The VNEA PA State 8-Ball Tournament returns to Erie this weekend. The event is slated to take place Thursday–Sunday at the Bayfront Convention Center.

The tournament has called Erie home since 1982. With nearly 200 tables set up and 2,000 pool players from across the state, this event has grown into one of the largest 8-ball tournaments in the country.

“The State 8-Ball Tournament is one of the signature events on our schedule each year and is an excellent example of the positive impact sports tourism has on our community,” said Mark Jeanneret, executive director of the Erie Sports Commission. “It’s an impressive site to see the all the pool tables taking up just about every space available in the convention center. It’s even more impressive to see the number of participants that travel to Erie each year for this tournament that help generate close to $1 million in estimated economic impact annually.”

The tournament begins with a practice session for participants on Thursday. Singles competition starts Friday at 2 p.m., and team competition gets underway Saturday at 9 a.m. The tournament ends on Sunday.

Spectator fee is $10 per day or $20 for a weekend pass.
