Presque Isle State Park
Erie’s top attraction for year-round fun is Presque Isle State Park! Known for its beaches, Presque Isle offers visitors stunning foliage and waterfront views throughout autumn. Explore Erie’s maritime history at the Presque Isle Lighthouse, bike along Presque Isle Bay, hunt for beach glass or hike along 11 miles of trails.
Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park
At Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park, it’s 84 degrees year-round! Recently named a top indoor water park by USA Today, Splash Lagoon features seven water slides, pools, hot tubs, a 12-level interactive Tree House, a Tree Tops Ropes Course, a 6,500 square foot arcade and a wave pool. The water park is attached to three hotels as well as Hooch & Blotto’s Sports Bar & Grill.
Wineries and Breweries
The largest grape-growing region east of the Rocky Mountains starts in Erie County! Lake Erie Wine Country features more than 20 unique wineries and vineyard vistas are nestled along the shoreline of Lake Erie, stretching for over 53 miles into New York state. The fall harvest is the perfect time to sip and savor the flavors of the Lake Erie region and learn from expert vintners about the winemaking process. Erie has a trail for beer drinkers as well: the Lake Erie Ale Trail features 15 breweries in Erie County and the surrounding region, each with its own unique flavor.

Game on: sports are back in Erie County for the 2021-22 season! Catch the future pros in action at an Erie Otters game as the team welcomes fans back to Erie Insurance Arena this fall. The team, a member of the Ontario Hockey League, has recently been home to NHL stars like Connor McDavid, and 2021 Stanley Cup champions Eric Cernak and Anthony Cirelli. Put yourself in the game at Presque Isle Downs & Casino, where more than 1,500 slots, 30 table games and a TwinSpires Sportsbook await your bets. Erie is also home to four colleges with NCAA DI, DII and DIII programs – check the schedules at Edinboro University, Gannon University, Mercyhurst University and Penn State Behrend to catch a game, tournament or match while you’re in town.

With a chill in the air and the sound of leaves crunching underfoot, harvest events and festivals are the best way to celebrate the autumn season! Explore the Outdoors
Great fishing offers year-round entertainment on our Great Lake, and fall marks the return of Erie’s famous steelhead run. Anglers from across the country descend on our Lake Erie tributaries to try and catch one of the steelhead that our area is known for. History, Art and Culture
Maritime history, modern murals and sculpture walks, and an active calendar of music and theater are just some of the highlights of Erie's cultural scene. Take a step back in time at any of the 18 unique exhibits at the Hagan History Center in downtown Erie, including Frank Lloyd Wright's original San Francisco office. The Erie Maritime Museum offers guests a glimpse into the contributions that Erie and Pennsylvania have made on the maritime industry, including Erie's own tall ship, the Flagship Niagara. Indulge your creative side at the Erie Art Museum, on a self-guided mural arts or sculpture tour or by creating a project at Creation Station! Kids can get in on the action too: the expERIEnce Children's Museum offers hands-on fun, well suited for children up to age 8. Erie welcomes a variety of nationally-touring acts as well as local theater as well - check out the calendars of Erie Events, the Erie Philharmonic and Erie Playhouse to get tickets to a show while you're in town.
