Beaches and Waterfront
A trip to Erie just isn’t complete without spending time on the water! Plan to spend a day at Presque Isle State Park, the most visited state park in Pennsylvania. Pack a picnic and relax on Presque Isle’s 13 miles of sandy beaches, bike along Presque Isle Bay, or meander all the way to the end of the peninsula to the North Pier Lighthouse. In Erie’s Bayfront District, get a drink and a meal along the water, or take a cruise aboard the Victorian Princess, Scallywags Pirate Ship or our Flagship Niagara.
Your whole family will enjoy making memories in Erie. Waldameer Park and Water World features more than 100 rides, slides and attractions, including the Ravine Flyer II, the 7th best wooden roller coaster in the world! At Waldameer, parking and admission are free - so the whole family can enter, but you only pay for the rides! The Erie SeaWolves are back in action at UPMC Park, where you can see up and coming major league talent up close! Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park is 84 degrees year-round, so you can splash around all year.
Lake Erie Wine Country
The largest grape-growing region east of the Rocky Mountains starts in Erie County! Whether on the green or on the water, there’s plenty of space to explore the outdoors in Erie County. Take a fishing charter out on Lake Erie, known for its outstanding walleye, perch and bass fishing (#3 on Bassmaster’s Top 100 Bass Lakes of the Decade in 2020!). Tee off at one of the area’s pristine golf clubs, like Whispering Woods or Peek’n Peak. Take in the waterfront scenery on two wheels along the 25 miles of flat trails at Presque Isle State Park, or on foot hiking along the Bluffs.
