Erie has been selected to host the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Atlantic/East Regional Tournament, with Gannon University and Whispering Woods Golf Club serving as official hosts. The tournament will be held Thursday through Saturday at Whispering Woods Golf Club.
The tournament will bring 20 of the nation’s top NCAA Division II Men’s golf programs—10 teams from the Atlantic Region and 10 from the East Region—along with four individuals from teams that don’t qualify to Erie. A practice round is scheduled for Wednesday ahead of tournament play beginning on Thursday.
This three-day tournament will feature a field of 108 participants, with five-player teams and individuals competing for the opportunity to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship, later in May at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
"We are extremely excited to be hosting and playing this year's Atlantic/East Regional at our home course. It is a great honor to be the host institute. We have played an extremely difficult schedule this year and have proven to ourselves that we can compete against some of the top teams in the nation, said Scott Stano, director of golf at Gannon University. “We have won six tournaments this year which was a great success. From top to bottom in the lineup, everyone has played tremendous golf. Everyone has a strong belief in themselves as well as their teammates. We have the depth and the experience to make a solid run in the NCAA's this year. We are excited at the opportunity to compete and do our very best this week.”
The Gannon’s Men’s golf program, which recently won the 2024 Atlantic/East Regional title, is especially excited to help showcase Erie’s championship-caliber golf scene to teams from across the East Coast.
