The Erie Sports Commission will host its next Go Play Days event at DICK’S Sporting Goods on Sunday, June 22. This event will feature a free learn-to-play soccer clinic for registered participants.

Participants can select from two sessions based on age: the first at 10 a.m. for ages five through seven and the second at noon for ages eight through 10. Each session will last 90 minutes and is limited to 20 participants. Registration is required for this free event and can be completed here, starting today. Spots will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.

The soccer clinic will include drills such as passing, dribbling and shooting. Participants should bring athletic clothes, sneakers or cleats and a water bottle.

“We are extremely excited to host our second Go Play Days event,” said Danielle Steffan, community and event manager at DICK’S. “The Go Play Days program is designed to promote active lifestyles among youth, and by offering an interactive soccer clinic, we’re giving the Erie community a chance to engage, have fun and develop valuable new skills.”

On June 8, 2024, DICK’S at Millcreek Mall unveiled its new outdoor athletic field, providing a high-quality space for sports and recreation. Accessible from inside the store, this venue supports DICK’S Sports Goods commitment to promoting physical fitness and offers an accessible location for athletes of all ages to hone their skills and enjoy outdoor sports.

The Erie Sports Commission’s Go Play Days program is supported in part by Lamar Advertising and Erie News Now.

Previous Go Play Day events have been hosted by the Erie Youth Hockey Association, Erie Pickleball Association, ASCEND Climbing and Lakeshore BMX.
