Erie Bay Cup and Erie Cancer Wellness Center Duathlon Weekend

TSC Hockey

Erie is hosting multiple events this weekend, including the Erie Bay Cup hockey tournament and the Erie Cancer Wellness Center Duathlon, which will draw athletes and community members to Erie for a weekend filled with competition and wellness.

Hosted by TCS Hockey, the Erie Bay Cup will return to Erie on Friday and run through Sunday at the LECOM Sports Park and Erie Insurance Arena. There will be a four-game minimum as level A and AA boys teams, U16–U8, compete in the tournament. This year’s event will feature roughly 750 participants across 36 teams, with athletes traveling from Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Michigan.

In addition, the Erie Cancer Wellness Center is set to host the annual Erie Duathlon on Sunday, with the start, finish and transition areas located at Pleasant Ridge Park in Fairview. The Duathlon consists of a 5K run, a 20K bike ride and a final 5K run, supporting the Erie Cancer Wellness Center’s mission to provide care and resources for individuals and families impacted by cancer.

The event will begin at 9 a.m., featuring an open division along with relay options for men, women and mixed teams. This event was capped at 160 participants, with event registrations sold out for the second year in a row.

"The Erie Duathlon is more than just a race; it’s a community coming together to support and uplift those facing cancer. Every mile run and every pedal turned helps bring strength and hope to families right here in Erie," says Kregg Heenan, an Erie Cancer Wellness volunteer.
