Busy Tournament Weekend Brings Youth Baseball and Fishing to Erie

North East Little League is set to host the first tournament in its 2026 tournament series, which features four tournaments in total.

The Mother’s Day Madness Baseball Tournament is returning for its third year this Saturday and Sunday at the Harborcreek Community Park, Belle Valley and Denny Lowes Complex, which is undergoing an extensive multi-phase renovation.

A total of 30 teams are registered and will travel from New York, Virginia and across Pennsylvania to compete. The tournament will feature 11U and 12U divisions, with all teams guaranteed a minimum of three games.

“North East Little League has done an outstanding job at attracting regional teams to the Erie area,” said Ben Huggler, interim executive director of the Erie Sports Commission. “We are excited to see continued growth in both their tournaments and baseball in North East.”

The next event in the 2026 tournament series is the Pat Papale Memorial Tournament, scheduled for June 13-14.

Competition starts at 6:15 a.m. and concludes at 3:15 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 3:45 p.m. at the Presque Isle State Park’s Site East Pier.
