A Full Slate of Summer Sports Happening in Erie This Weekend v2

The PA Major Girls’ Little League State Softball Tournament, hosted by Union City Little League, is kicking off the weekend. Teams will compete in a double-elimination tournament to earn the title of Major Little League State Champion. Games will be played on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with singular championship games happening Saturday through next Tuesday.

The Jesse Triana Memorial Tournament, hosted by North East Little League, will begin Friday evening at 6 p.m. and continue throughout the weekend with games scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The tournament will welcome 42 teams competing in the 9U, 10U and 14U divisions, with participants traveling from Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio, New York and across Pennsylvania. Games will take place at the Denny Lowes Complex as well as additional fields throughout North East.

The Grape Belt Triple Crown goes underway on Saturday, bringing three of the region’s premier touring divisions to Lake Erie Speedway. The ISMA-MSS Supermodifieds, the Race of Champions Sportsman Modifieds and the American All-Star Pro Late Model will all share the track. Pit gates open at 11 a.m., grandstand gates open and practice starts at 4 p.m., and opening ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. To purchase tickets, click here.

Also happening Saturday and Sunday is the Don’t Give Up the Disc – Beach Ultimate, hosted by Erie Ultimate League Enterprises. This ultimate frisbee event will feature 16 coed teams traveling from Michigan, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania, bringing more than 170 participants to Beach 11 at Presque Isle State Park. Competition begins on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., consisting of pool play and a layout competition after the third round and followed by a championship bracket on Sunday.

The PA BASS Nation Tournament, hosted by PA BASS Nation, takes place on Saturday and Sunday on Presque Isle Bay. There will be more than 60 participants travelling from Maryland, New Jersey, New York and across Pennsylvania. Boats will launch from the West Pier at 6 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Daily weigh-ins will also take place at the West Pier, beginning at 2:30 p.m. each day. In addition to the tournament, PA BASS Nation will also be holding their college qualifier, where teams will compete for a spot in the 2027 BASSMASTER College Championship.
