Lake Erie Cyclefest 2025

An All-Cycling Weekend for All Cycling Lovers!
July 24-27, 2025
Experience breathtaking landscapes and Erie County’s abundant natural resources and spectacular routes, while enjoying the type of community that can only be found at a cycling festival! Cyclists of all ages and abilities will participate in self-supported rides on routes that feature Erie’s vast terrain – along sandy beaches and through old growth forests, across our vibrant downtown and our expansive grape-growing region.
As always, all event proceeds from Lake Erie Cyclefest, sponsored by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and AHN Saint Vincent Hospital, will benefit local charities. Proceeds from 2025 rides will benefit Asbury Woods, Because You Care Inc., Bike Erie, Erie Downtown Partnership, Northern Allegheny Mountain Bike Association and the Presque Isle Partnership.

Lake Erie Cyclefest Downtown Slow Roll
Thursday, July 24, 6 p.m.
The Erie Downtown Partnership, in collaboration with Bike Erie, will kick off Lake Erie Cyclefest with their annual Downtown Slow Roll on Thursday, July 24! The family-friendly bike ride will feature a leisurely ride through the vibrant streets of downtown and Erie Bayfront, showcasing points of interest along the way. The ride begins and ends in Perry Square, where vendors will celebrate the event. Children 10 and older can join the ride on a two-wheeled bike, while kids under 10 are invited to take part in a bike and safety course.
Registration details: Ride is free, but registration is required. Voluntary donations to Bike Erie are appreciated.

Grape Escape Ride
Friday, July 25, Start times: 50-mile at 8:30 a.m. and 25-mile at 9:30 a.m.
Experience the Grape Escape Ride, featuring a stunning 25 or 50-mile journey through Erie County’s renowned Wine Country! Starting and ending at Southshore Winery in North East, this ride offers refreshing lake breezes, the delightful aroma of grapes and the beauty of the countryside. Celebrate your morning adventure with wine samples, delicious food, and a great atmosphere.

Tour de West County
Saturday, July 26, Start times: 50-mile at 8 a.m.; 25-mile at 9 a.m.; and 12-mile at 10 a.m.
The Tour de West County is one of the region's oldest and largest cycling events. Beginning and ending at the Asbury Woods Nature Center, participants can choose from 12, 25, or 50-mile routes that wind through rolling hills, meadows, and farmlands. After the ride, enjoy a post-ride picnic featuring food and drinks.

Six Mile Creek Classic
Saturday, July 26, registration starts at 9 a.m. and racing will start at 10 a.m.
Get ready for the adrenaline-pumping adventure of a lifetime at the Six Mile Creek Classic! This heart-racing mountain biking event invites riders of all ages to conquer a challenging six-mile loop through the rugged terrain of Six Mile Creek Park in Harborcreek Township. With winding trails through dense woods, steep hills, and dirt paths, every turn promises excitement. Riders can compete in various categories, including beginner, youth, sport, expert, single speed, and Class 1 E-Bike. Starting this year, electronic timing will be used to see who the best is. Safety first—helmets are a must for everyone, no matter your experience level! Plus, delicious food and drinks will be available to fuel the celebration of an unforgettable race. Don’t miss out on the ride of the year!

Presque Isle Sunrise Ride
Sunday, July 27, 5:30 a.m. - 8 a.m.
Experience the stunning beauty of Presque Isle State Park during the Presque Isle Sunrise Ride. A magnificent Lake Erie sunrise awaits you at Presque Isle State Park. Geared for all riders, this self-tour of stunning scenery around the 13-mile peninsula starts at the Beach 1 Pavilion and offers an early morning tour of the Presque Isle Lighthouse, followed by the annual Discover Presque Isle Pancake Breakfast held at the Rotary Pavilion, which is included with registration.

See Spot Ride, Ride for Animal Rescue
Sunday, July 27, Start times: 40-mile at 9 a.m.; 25-mile at 9:30 a.m.; and 10-mile at 9:45 a.m.
This exciting event takes place on the scenic roads of McKean Township in Southern Erie County, featuring picturesque routes for varied abilities. Choose from 40-, 25- or 10-mile rides, all starting at McKean Elementary School and finishing at the Because You Care Adoption Center. Celebrate your ride with a fun “Pawty” that includes lunch, drinks, music, and plenty of adorable, adoptable friends! Don’t miss out on this fantastic day for a great cause!
