Lake Erie Odyssey

The Barber National Institute will host the Lake Erie Odyssey on Saturday at Waldameer Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The adapted obstacle course event is designed for teens and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, offering an accessible and supportive competition environment. A total of 207 participants are expected from communities across Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Participants will journey through the heart of the park, winding along colorful pathways as Waldameer’s iconic rides tower overhead like bold landmarks guiding the way. Each obstacle offers choices, empowering you to decide how you want to take it on - push, pull, tug, or carry - and move at a pace that feels right for you.

From course buddies and dedicated volunteers to the electric energy of the crowd, support is built into every step of the experience. Whether you’re tackling your first obstacle or crossing the final stretch, you’ll never be alone on the course.

Lake Erie Odyssey is about more than completing a challenge, it’s about discovering what you’re capable of achieving. Every element of the day is thoughtfully designed to put choice, confidence, and personal victory at the center of the experience.
