Erie Insurance Arena

The Erie Insurance Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the downtown area of Erie, Pennsylvania. The arena gives Erie the ability to host a wide range of sports events such as professional ice hockey, professional basketball, and indoor football. The arena is home to the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League and the Erie BayHawks of the NBA Development League and current affiliate of the Orlando Magic. The facility comes equipped with eight team locker rooms and can seat 6,700 people for ice hockey and 6,900 people for basketball. A recent $47 million restoration and expansion project was completed to include additional seating and restrooms and enlarged concourse areas. The arena has successfully hosted events such as the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Championships, the 2011 NCAA Women’s Frozen Four National Ice Hockey Championship and the 2014 NCAA Women’s Division II Basketball Elite Eight.

UPMC Park, formerly Jerry Uht Park, is a  baseball-only stadium located adjacent to Erie Insurance Arena in the heart of downtown Erie that can seat 4,200 spectators.  Recent improvements include a modern electronic scoreboard with a 40-foot video display and a two-tiered Picnic Garden which contains 11 luxury boxes and new concession stands. The ballpark also has six luxury suites in the main grandstand. The AA Eastern League’s Erie Seawolves have called the park home since 1999, and are a current affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The ballpark has also been a popular site for college and high school baseball games.

Bayfront Convention Center

Built in 2007 on Erie’s waterfront, the Bayfront Convention Center features more than 100,000 total square feet of space and spectacular floor-to-ceiling views of Presque Isle Bay. The Great Hall features more than 28,000 square feet of space and a ceiling height of 23 feet. The Convention Center has hosted events such as boxing matches, bodybuilding competitions, gymnastics and cheerleading competitions, billiards, and even regional dog shows. The facility has over 470 free parking spaces and is connected to two hotels – the 200-room Sheraton Erie Bayfront and the brand new 192-room Courtyard Erie Bayfront, which opened in June 2016.

Presque Isle Downs and Casino

Presque Isle Downs and Casino offers guests world class entertainment and a creative event space with great experience hosting sports events like arm wrestling, boxing, and running. The clubhouse restaurant was fully renovated in 2016 as The Brew Brothers, which features a new stage with state-of-the-art lighting and sound system, large high-definition televisions, seating capacity for 3,000, and a panoramic view of the racing track. The one-mile oval racetrack features live horse racing from May through October and additional seating capacity of up to 1,500.

Lake Erie Speedway

Lake Erie Speedway is a 3/8 mile asphalt, oval speedway and motorsports facility sanctioned by NASCAR. The $12 million, state-of-the-art motorsports venue was built in 2002 and sits on 120 acres of land.  It is considered to be one of the premier motorsports facilities in the nation featuring a premium sound system, Musco lights, and countless other amenities. With parking for more than 1,000 on site, the Speedway has become a popular destination for themed races and other events as of late, including the Insane Inflatable 5K and The Lantern Fest.
