Two-Day Event will be held Saturday on Misery Bay; Sunday on Marina Bay
Erie, Pa: The Western PA Hardwater Series will host a two-day ice fishing tournament this weekend, with all competition taking place at Presque Isle State Park. Saturday’s events will take place on Misery Bay and Sunday fishing taking place at Marina Bay.
Two-person teams will compete both days. The winning team will be based on the total combined weight of fish after two days. Tournament entry is $80 per team, with an optional $10 lunker for one day. Registration will take place on site. Park entrance gates open at 5 a.m., with registration and activities following shortly after.
Saturday’s official launch will be held at the main access, on the east side of Misery Bay. Weigh-in will be held at Lake Erie Bait and Tackle at 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, competition will launch from the West Pier Boat Ramp area of Marina Bay, with weigh-in at FishUSA Pro Shop, also at 2:30 p.m.
The tournament winner will receive a cash prize based on the number of entries. More than $1,500 has been given to the tournament winner at each of the previous 2019 events. Other prizes, including augers, ice fishing suits, lures and more will be distributed at weigh-in.
Tournament directors are constantly monitoring ice conditions to ensure competitor safety.
