Erie, PA: The Erie Sports Commission (ESC) is pleased to announce that the 35th Annual Pennsylvania State 8-Ball Tournament will be held at the Bayfront Convention Center March 10-12.
The PA State 8-Ball Tournament, which is hosted annually by Warner Coin Machine, is the fourth largest 8-ball tournament in the country. More than 180 tables will be set up for competition, as 2,000 players are expected to travel from across the state and beyond for the 2017 tournament.
Players must compete in a VNEA-sanctioned league in order to participate in the tournament. Entries are currently being accepted at Warner Coin Machine.
The tournament will begin Friday, March 10 at 3 p.m. with singles competition. Team competition will begin Saturday, March 11 at 9 a.m. and continue on Sunday, March 12, also at 9 a.m.
The 35th anniversary tournament will bring two professional pool entertainers, Dave Pearson and Tom Rossman, to Erie. Pearson is a pool entertainer who holds world records for Speed Pool on single table, double table, 10 table, and the 24-hour record. Tom Rossman, otherwise known as Dr. Cue, has had more than 5,000 shows, teaching clinics, and special event appearances since 1974.
“I’m incredibly proud to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of this tournament in 2017,” said Rod Didion, the Tournament Coordinator from Warner Coin Machine. “I’d invite anyone with even the slightest interest in pool, whether as a participant or spectator, to join us that weekend.”

Tickets are available at the door for $5 per day or $10 for a weekend pass.
