Erie, Pa: The Erie Sports Commission will host and support three sporting events in the region over Memorial Day Weekend, all of which will include charitable causes.
PA USBC Open Championship
The Pennsylvania USBC will continue to host its Open Championship every weekend through June 16. The event takes place over ten weekends from April until June, and will see nearly 5,000 unique bowlers over the course of the competition. The event is being held in Erie for the first time since 2014.

When: Friday, May 24 through Sunday, May 26

Kayak Anglers of Western PA will host its second Erie-based tournament of 2019 on Presque Isle Bay. All proceeds from this tournament will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children – Erie. Any angler is encouraged to sign up.
When: Saturday, May 25 – Launch 6 a.m.
Where: Presque Isle Bay (competition); Field & Stream Shop (awards ceremony – 3 p.m.)

Erie Freedom Challenge 15K
Walnut Creek Baptist Church will host the fifth annual Erie Freedom Challenge, benefiting Operation Christmas Child and The Elijah Lodge, both ministries of Walnut Creek Baptist Church.
When: Monday, May 27 – first race begins at 7:30 a.m.
Where: Start and finish at Walnut Creek Baptist Church, with a route through Millcreek and Fairview Townships
What: 15K, 5K, Team Relay Challenge and three youth races.
