DESCRIPTION:The Pat Papale Memorial Tournament brings together youth baseball teams for a meaningful weekend of competition played in honor of an athlete whose love for the game left a lasting impact on the North East community. The tournament features 8U and 13U divisions, giving young players the opportunity to compete in a supportive and well organized environment early in their playing careers. Each team is guaranteed a three game minimum, ensuring ample on field experience throughout the event. At the conclusion of tournament play, first and second place awards will be presented to recognize team achievement and sportsmanship.<br />

The tournament was established in 2013 in memory of Pat Papale, a passionate and talented baseball player whose life was tragically cut short in an automobile accident on October 10, 2012. Pat began playing TeeBall at age six in Southern Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, before moving to North East in sixth grade, where he continued his baseball journey in the Major Boys division of North East Little League. His connection to the sport deepened through countless experiences on the fields at the Denny Lowes Complex, a place where his dedication and skill flourished. Pat went on to play four years for the North East High School baseball team and graduated in 2010, remembered by teammates and coaches for his energy, competitive spirit, and love for the game.<br />

Today, the tournament stands as a tribute to Pat’s legacy, offering young athletes an opportunity to compete on the same fields that shaped his baseball journey. The event brings together families, players, and the broader community to celebrate the sport he loved while fostering teamwork, development, and shared appreciation for youth baseball.<br />
