Kayak Anglers Bass on the Bay

Erie Sports Commission

The Western PA Chapter of Kayak Anglers will host its sixth Bass on the Bay event Saturday, May 1 on Presque Isle Bay.

Anglers will launch at 5:30 a.m. from public access points on Presque Isle Bay and Chestnut St. boat launch.  Lines in will be at 6 a.m. and anglers will fish until 2 p.m. Fish will need to be submitted to TourneyX by 3 p.m. This is our signature event for Kayak Anglers of Western PA.  The cost for KA members is $55 and the cost for non members is $70.  There is also an optional Big Bass buy-in for $10 and biggest bass takes the pot.  Registration through TourneyX is live at

Participants must fish from human powered kayaks, single-person canoes or SUPs. The tournaments are catch-photograph-release events, with all fish measured and scored digitally. Anglers will submit photos of fish remotely via mobile device to be measured. Kayak Anglers utilizes TourneyX Tournament Management System for fish photo submissions.

Kayak Anglers operates to foster relationships in the kayak fishing community, with objectives including cleaning waterways and improving waterway access, giving to related charities and building the community through sustainable, catch-photograph-release tournaments.

We payout 75% of the entry fee to the top 10% of the field and 25% of the entry field will benefit Shriners Children’s Hospital in Erie, PA.  The event is open to any interested angler.
