Stars and Stripes Gymnastics Invitational
Erie Gymnastics will hold its 18th Annual Stars and Stripes Gymnastics Invitational January 18-21, 2019 at the Bayfront Convention Center. Nearly 2,000 athletes are expected to compete in the event, which is regarded as the largest gymnastics competition in Pennsylvania and one of the largest in the eastern United States.
The Main Event, featuring the competition's top-level gymnasts, is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 19.
The event, which was founded in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, offers free admission to all members of the military, police, fire and rescue workers. Each year, a portion of the event’s proceeds are donated to a military, police or fire and rescue-based organization. The benefiting charity for the 2019 event will be the Fairfield Hose Volunteer Fire Department in Harborcreek Township.
Since its inception, Erie Gymnastics has raised more than $85,000 for related charities through the Stars and Stripes Gymnastics Invitational.
Admission is $15 for adults, $7 for children over age 3, and free for members of the military, police and fire and rescue workers.
