Join Special Olympics of Pennsylvania as they get “Freezin’ for a Reason” at the Polar Plunge! The event will be held at Erie’s Presque Isle State Park for the third consecutive year. Hundreds of Special Olympics athletes and supporters will raise money for Special Olympics PA before jumping into Lake Erie from Beach 7. The event is held in locations across the state each year to raise money for Special Olympics Pennsylvania programs and build awareness.



9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Registration Opens, Plunge Town Open
11:45 a.m. Plunge Safety Briefing
12 p.m. Polar Plunge

For the third year, WICU-TV 12 anchor Mike Ruzzi will serve as guest emcee and celebrity plunger. Ruzzi will again be joined by co-emcee Joe Lang of BOB FM 94.7. Before taking the plunge, plungers and spectators can enjoy live bands, games, free food and beverages, as well as an ice carving demonstration at Plunge Town.
